About Me

Can you relate to any of these statements?

  • You wish you had more confidence in your teaching.
  • You don't feel like you have everything you need to do your job efficiently.
  • You don't feel like you know everything you need to effectively teach the content areas, especially in science or social studies.
  • You value your time with your family, and would rather not spend your time searching for teaching materials and researching curriculum content.

If you've ever had any of these thoughts, you are not alone.  I have felt these things too!  I’ve felt like I was working hard and not really accomplishing anything.  I’ve come home and wondered if I actually taught my students anything that day.  I decided to refocus and re-prioritize.

  • I wanted learning to be fun for my students!
  • I wanted us to experience learning first hand, not through a worksheet!
  • I wanted to have my students go deeper with the curriculum!
  • I wanted to make sure I was accurately assessing my students on what mattered – the skills and competencies they’d need to be successful in life!
  • I wanted to be energized and inspired in my classroom every day!

Well, you're in the right place, because that's EXACTLY what I do!

I'm Angela.  I teach fourth grade in British Columbia, Canada. I inspire time-strapped teachers to better reach all learners through clear, comprehensive, and hands-on lessons for maximum student engagement.    This means that teachers can spend more of their valuable time on other aspects of their lives.  My resources help teachers just like you tackle content areas with complete, easy-to-use, low-prep units.  Through inquiry-based approaches, hands-on learning experiences, and collaboration, teachers and students can go deeper with the curriculum.

Are you ready to take back your free time and inspire deep learning in your students?  Let me be your supportive colleague.  Take me with you as you navigate our stressful and busy profession.  You can use my resources with confidence that they are high quality, and will benefit you and your students!  I am looking forward to supporting you along the way!

I'm 34, a girlfriend, a fur mommy, teacher, and teacher author.  I've been in the classroom for 9 years.  I have always taught grade 4, though I have also taught a 4/5 and 3/4 split.

I opened my Teachers Pay Teachers store in the fall of 2012.  It has been a growing passion of mine ever since.  I love the opportunities it has provided me with to connect to other teachers!  My passions are pretty apparent in my store: hands-on science lessons, task cards, and organizational items.

  1. What a beautiful blog! It is SO you. Reading through your 'Meet the Teacher' was a lovely little bit of nostalgia. :) Your students are a lucky bunch to have such a creative and dedicated teacher.

  2. Hello Angela,

I am so thrilled I found you! Your products on TpT are amazing, and I have purchased a few of them. Thank you for all your hard work in producing these resources for teachers. I especially love them because they align with British Columbia's new curriculum. I am just starting to teach grade 3 and 4 again in Kelowna, BC after several years of being at home homeschooling my own children.

I have been working on yearly plans for social studies, and I feel a bit overwhelmed on how to plan. It seems like a lot of content to cover in a year. I would so appreciate and love ANY advice you could give me! I am excited to learn from you ;).

    Thank you,
    Michelle

    1. Hi Michelle! Thank you for leaving me a message and for your kind words about my resources! I too, found Social Studies a bit harder than Science because it wasn't as clear cut how you could divide it up. My suggestion would be to get a blank piece of paper and some coloured pens... look for links between pieces. What needs to come first? (i.e. students need to understand indigenous cultures of Canada before they can grasp contact and change.). What can be saved until the end? Is there something in grade 3 that links nicely to grade 4? (Landforms is in science in grade 3, and natural resources in grade 4 SS ties nicely!). Create a table or web or whatever works for your brainwaves. If you want to chat more, email me - angela@funinfourth.ca. I'd love to help!
